Phillip Louw is a Hamilton-based registered Counselling Psychologist and completed his professional training at the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. He has experience working in private practice, NGO and correctional environments and has dealt with a broad range of client population types and presenting problems. Phillip has been trained in and has experience working with a range of therapeutic modalities including cognitive-behavioural therapy, modern psychodynamic therapies, positive psychological therapies, such as mindfulness-based therapies, as well as neuropsychological and brain-based therapies such as BrainWorking Recursive Therapy®.  He is the approved New Zealand BWRT® trainer.

Phillip runs a small private practice, which include seeing private clients and ACC (ISSC) referred clients, as well as doing BWRT® training for Mental Health Professionals. Phillip is employed by the Department of Corrections and can therefore not see clients (or clients how have close relatives/friends) who is managed by the Department of Corrections.
